Your baby now looks like a newborn although thinner because she still doesn’t have enough fat stored under its skin to give it the plumpness she will have at birth. The eyes are already where they will be at birth and her eyelids are formed, in fact, she moves her eyes frequently although she doesn’t open them yet.
The chances of the baby hearing sounds from the outside are increasing every day. The little bones that make up her ear structure have begun to harden. The lungs keep developing although they are not mature enough for the baby to breathe by herself yet.
Babies born this week have some chance of survival, although they will need assisted breathing. Her chances of survival increase with every week that goes by.
Your baby now weighs a bit over a pound (half a kilogram) and measures almost 11 inches and a half or 30 centimeters.
